1. Program Tools – Refresh Your Outreach Toolbox
Posters/presentations in this category focus on fresh, new, and effective ways to advance consumer awareness and behavior; to include evidence-based design, implementation and evaluation of digital and other tools and methods shown to be effective in improving food handling behaviors and/or delivery of consumer food safety education.
2. Know the Data: Modifying Approaches to Increase Consumer Engagement
Posters/presentations in this category focus on how health and food safety educators mine their own data, and other sources of data, including published research, to identify knowledge gaps and to adjust program approaches for engaging and educating consumers.
3. Safe Food Handling in Today’s Food Landscape
How does today’s food landscape affect consumer food safety and consumer awareness of risk? Posters/presentations in this category focus on food safety education in the context of emerging food and consumer trends and issues.
4. Show It! Hands- on Demonstrations that Engage Consumers
Submissions in this category are for presentations that showcase a consumer-oriented food preparation or food safety demonstration. This could include effective handwashing demos; demos/activities for kids; and other proven demonstrations that engage consumers in-person, in small groups on the topic of safe food handling and hand hygiene
