This entry level media training intensive is for active health and food safety communicators with positions in a government agency (federal, state or local in the United States) or the non-profit sector, who are interested in improving their effectiveness in engaging with journalists in print, television, radio and digital media when advocating for and promoting consumer food safety.
This training will cover pitching, how to answer questions in a focused, strategic manner, and how to create and effectively deliver sound bites throughout an interview. Facilitators will work with participants in mock-interviews to help them handle television/video interviews with complete confidence.
If you are interested in attending this full-day pre-conference workshop, you must apply by filling out this form no later than Monday, February 11. Space is limited to just 20 qualified participants.
Applicants chosen to attend will receive notice of acceptance on or before Friday, January 18, 2019. Applicants are responsible for all travel and hotel arrangements, and for submitting a workshop registration fee of $160 within five days of being chosen to participate.
